AI workflow automation Repeatable office processes where a model does the reading and drafting.
Short answer. AI workflow automation means running a repeatable office process from a trigger to a result, with a language model handling the steps that need reading or judgement and ordinary software handling the rest. Microsoft describes its Copilot Studio workflows as combining the predictability of automation with the flexibility of AI, with built-in testing and human-in-the-loop controls. Anthropic defines a workflow as a system where models and tools follow predefined code paths. Example: a GST invoice arrives by email, a model extracts the supplier, invoice number and amounts, rules check the arithmetic, an accountant approves, and the ledger entry is created.

Stage
Who does it
Invoice example
Trigger
Software
An email with a PDF lands in the accounts inbox
Read
A model
Extract supplier, GSTIN, invoice number, taxable value and tax
Check
Plain rules
Totals add up, the GSTIN has the right format, the invoice number is new
Decide
A person, for exceptions
Approve anything the rules flag or the model is unsure about
Act
Software
Create the ledger entry, file the PDF, notify the owner
Record
Software
Log each step so a wrong entry can be traced

Where AI helps and where rules do better
OpenAI’s guide says agents suit workflows where traditional, deterministic and rule-based approaches fall short. The reverse also holds: where a plain rule works, use the rule.
Use a model for reading messy documents, classifying emails, extracting fields from scans, drafting replies and summarising long threads.
Use plain code for arithmetic, date maths, lookups, format checks and permissions, and for anything that must give the same answer every time.
Use a person for approvals, for exceptions, and for anything sent outside the office.
03
Planning for failure
Decide in advance what happens when the model is unsure, a tool times out or an input is missing. OpenAI’s guide suggests setting limits on retries or actions and escalating to a person when they are exceeded.
Retry a failed step a fixed number of times, then stop.
Send low-confidence or flagged items to a review queue, never straight on to the next step.
Keep the original input with every output, so a reviewer sees both.
Alert someone when failures rise, not only when the workflow stops.
04
Measuring whether it works
Sample real runs every week and score them against what a careful person would have done.
Track how many items go to human review, and how many the reviewer changes.
Track time saved per item including the review time, not only the model’s time.
Re-test after any change of model, prompt or template.

Where ANVE stands
ANVE’s Bills maker reads GST bills, its minutes maker turns transcripts into action items that need a person’s confirmation, and Zoho or other tools can connect through MCP connectors that an administrator approves. The agent loop allows up to seven tool steps per request. Agents for action follow-up and tender response are built with a paid pilot and are not shipped products.

Questions people ask
How is it different from an AI agent?
In a workflow, code fixes the path and the model fills in steps. An agent chooses its own steps. Anthropic and OpenAI draw the same line.
Do I need to write code?
Not always. Microsoft describes Copilot Studio as a graphical, low-code studio for building agents and workflows. An unusual process or an unusual system may still need a developer.
What should never be fully automated?
Anything irreversible, anything that sends information outside the office, and anything that moves money, unless a person approves it. OpenAI’s guide names cancelling orders, authorising large refunds and making payments as examples for human oversight.
Can the model run on my own network?
Yes, if the steps use a local model. Then reading, extracting and drafting stay inside the office. Any cloud step is separate and should be logged.

What is not real yet
No sealed ANVE unit exists; every image of the appliance on this site is a labelled render. The software runs today on a development machine. No customers yet, no certifications, no delivery date, and the final price is not announced.
Reservations are ₹999 in India or US$12 elsewhere, refundable in full until you confirm an order in writing (terms). Offices that cannot use cloud AI can apply to be one of ten design partners.
