Can an office use a gaming GPU for AI?
What the licence says, and how a GeForce card differs from a workstation card.

Short answer. A gaming GPU can run local models, but an office should check the licence first. NVIDIA’s driver agreement says GeForce driver software is licensed only for GeForce hardware you own and is not licensed for datacenter deployment. The page does not define that term, so ask NVIDIA or your supplier in writing whether a shared office server counts. Beyond the licence, a GeForce RTX 5090 has 32 GB of memory against 24 GB with ECC on an RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell, but it needs 575 W for the card and a 1,000 W system supply against 145 W. This is general information, not legal advice.

What NVIDIA’s licence says

NVIDIA’s driver licence agreement, as published on its site on 7 October 2026, includes a clause (2.8) saying that GeForce and Titan driver software is licensed only for use on GeForce or Titan hardware that you own, and is not licensed for datacenter deployment. The page does not define “datacenter” and does not mention AI or the size of an organisation.

Whether a shared office server in a cupboard or a server room counts as datacenter deployment is a question of fact and contract, and this page cannot answer it. Ask NVIDIA or your supplier, in writing, about your actual setup. This is a summary of what the document says, general information and not legal advice.

What the extra 8 GB changes

More memory is a real advantage for local models. Qwen3-32B at 4-bit is a 19.8 GB file, which with a 32,768-token conversation comes to about 30.3 GB: it fits in 32 GB but not in 24 GB. A 70B model at 4-bit, a 42.5 GB file, fits neither card. Extra memory buys room for longer or more conversations. It does not change the licence question, and it comes with a card whose rated power is about four times that of the professional one.

Questions to put to a supplier

  • In writing: does our setup, a shared server used by named staff over the network, fall inside or outside the GeForce driver licence?
  • What power supply, connectors and case airflow does this card need for continuous use? NVIDIA lists 1,000 W for the RTX 5090.
  • Is the card covered by warranty and support for continuous, all-day operation? This page has not checked any warranty terms.
  • Is ECC memory needed for this work? The question on ECC covers when it matters.

Where ANVE fits

ANVE Office Pro is specified around an NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell, a professional card, not a GeForce card, with 128 GB of system memory for up to 100 named users. That is a launch specification, the price is indicative, and no sealed unit exists yet.

Questions people ask

Does the licence stop a small office using a GeForce card for AI?
The clause we read concerns datacenter deployment; it does not mention AI or office size. Whether a particular setup counts is for NVIDIA or your supplier to confirm. This is general information, not legal advice.
Will Ollama and llama.cpp run on a GeForce card?
Yes. Ollama lists the GeForce RTX 50 and 40 series, including the RTX 5090, as supported NVIDIA GPUs, and llama.cpp has custom CUDA kernels for NVIDIA cards.
Is 32 GB enough for a 70B model?
No. A 70B model at 4-bit is about 42.5 GB of weights, so it exceeds both a 32 GB and a 24 GB card and would run partly from system memory.

What is not real yet

No sealed ANVE unit exists; every image of the appliance on this site is a labelled render. The software runs today on a development machine. No customers yet, no certifications, no delivery date, and the final price is not announced.

Reservations are ₹999 in India or US$12 elsewhere, refundable in full until you confirm an order in writing (terms). Offices that cannot use cloud AI can apply to be one of ten design partners.
