Workstation GPU A professional graphics card: more memory, ECC and drivers meant for steady use.
Short answer. A workstation GPU is a graphics card sold for professional use, with error-correcting memory, drivers tested and certified for professional applications, and management tools for IT departments. NVIDIA’s RTX PRO Blackwell desktop range runs from 16 GB to 96 GB of GDDR7, every model on NVIDIA’s comparison page is listed with ECC, and maximum power runs from 70 W to 600 W. NVIDIA says each RTX Enterprise driver goes through hundreds of test plans and thousands of hours of testing before release. For an office AI box it means more memory per card, ECC, and a driver stream whose stated focus is stability.

What workstation cards add
ECC memory: NVIDIA lists every RTX PRO Blackwell desktop card with ECC GDDR7.
Enterprise drivers: NVIDIA says their development focuses on removing bottlenecks, increasing security and ensuring stability, with hundreds of test plans and thousands of hours of testing before each release.
Certification: NVIDIA says it works with industry software and hardware partners to test and certify its drivers with professional applications and systems.
Manageability: tools for IT administrators, including NVWMI for scripting GPU settings, driver rollback and display management.
Larger memory options and form factors from a 70 W card to a 600 W card.

What it means for AI work
Memory capacity decides which models fit, and the range offers 16 to 96 GB per card. ECC protects against flipped bits in memory that holds model weights for months. The driver programme is aimed at steady operation, which suits a machine that runs all day.
None of this makes a card faster by itself. Compare bandwidth and compute as well: the RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell lists 672 GB/s. Also allow for ECC’s cost in capacity: NVIDIA’s documentation says reported memory can drop by several percent when ECC is on.

Where ANVE stands
ANVE’s Office Pro unit uses an NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell (24 GB), which is a workstation-class card from the range above. ANVE One uses an AMD Strix Halo class chip; ANVE Office and ANVE Office Pro use NVIDIA graphics cards. No sealed unit exists yet.

Questions people ask
Can I use a gaming GPU instead?
For one technical user it often works. The differences are memory size, ECC and driver support, which our gaming GPU question covers.
Are workstation GPUs faster?
Not by definition. The differences are mainly memory, ECC, drivers and support. Compare memory bandwidth, capacity and measured results on your own task.
What are RTX Enterprise drivers?
NVIDIA’s driver line for its professional cards. NVIDIA says it focuses on stability and security, with each release going through hundreds of test plans and thousands of hours of testing.
What does certified mean for a driver?
NVIDIA says it works with software and hardware partners to tune, test and certify its drivers with professional applications and systems. Check whether the software you actually run is on the certified list.
