ANVE: the private AI office, on the record. See what that means

ANVE

Private AI for your office · updated 2026-10-06

Private AI for colleges and universities.
Exam papers, student data and unpublished research stay on campus.

Short answer. Colleges and universities hold records that their own rules require them to keep confidential. A college or university must take reasonable security safeguards, including over vendors' processing. Failure can draw a penalty of up to ₹250 crore. Pasting student data and exam papers into a public cloud chatbot hands them to a third party. ANVE is a private AI appliance on the office network, so work such as draft accreditation self-study reports from internal data and summarise committee minutes and circulars happens without the records leaving the building, for named users with an audit trail. AISHE 2023-24 registers 64,756 higher-education institutions in India: 1,289 universities, 48,246 colleges and 15,221 standalone institutions (59,533 of them responded to the survey).

  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — s.8(1) and s.8(2): A college or university acting as a Data Fiduciary stays responsible for processing done on its behalf by a Data Processor, and may use one only under a valid contract.
  • CERT-In Guidelines on Information Security Practices for Government Entities (June 2023) — Applicability and clause 8.1: Cover ministries and 'all government institutions' under their administrative purview. Third-party access to information must be restricted and shared only after a non-disclosure agreement.

  • Summarise committee minutes and circulars
  • Answer student and staff queries from the institution's own rulebooks

Questions people ask

Can a college or university use ChatGPT with student data and exam papers?
