Can AI turn a report into a presentation?
Yes, as an editable first draft. Charts and numbers need your eyes.

Short answer. Yes, as a first draft that you edit. A local model can read a report, plan an outline, write each slide and export a PowerPoint file, and open libraries such as python-pptx do the file work without PowerPoint installed. The weak spots are design, structure and numbers. Researchers who built the PPTAgent system note that earlier methods concentrated on content quality alone and overlooked visual appeal and structural coherence, which is why they score decks on content, design and coherence separately. Charts and tables must be rebuilt from the report’s data, not paraphrased. Check every figure against the source before the deck reaches a board.

01

How the conversion works

A typical pipeline reads the report with its headings and tables, drafts an outline of slides, writes the text and speaker notes for each, picks a layout, and writes a .pptx file. PPTAgent, a 2025 research system, works by analysing example presentations and then editing reference slides, rather than drawing layouts from nothing, and evaluates the result on content, design and coherence.

The file format is Office Open XML, an open standard published as ECMA-376 and ISO/IEC 29500, which is a ZIP package of XML. The python-pptx library can create, read and update .pptx files, add slides, fill the text placeholders of an existing template, and add pictures, tables and charts. Because the output is a normal PPTX file, it opens in PowerPoint and in other tools that import the format.

Microsoft PowerPointPPTX is the format of PowerPoint 2007 and later, defined by the open Office Open XML standard.Fonts, especially Devanagari fonts, must exist on the machine that presents.
Google SlidesOffice files can be edited, downloaded and converted. Macros are not supported; embedded charts and videos in PowerPoint files are converted to images; SmartArt becomes Google Drawings.Charts you meant to edit may arrive as pictures.

What a person must still check

  • Every number on every slide, against the report. A summarised figure is easy to round wrongly.
  • Charts: the axis, the units and the period. Rebuild them from the data.
  • Claims that appear on a slide but not in the report. A model may add plausible filler.
  • Layout: text that overflows boxes, orphan words, Hindi text in the right font.
  • Images and their rights, and whether the deck needs a confidentiality label.
  • One idea per slide. Cut a slide that repeats the one before.
04

How an office would set this up

  • Give the model the report and a short brief: audience, length in slides, and what decision the deck supports.
  • Ask for an outline first and approve it before any slides are written.
  • Provide your template so the output uses your master slides and placeholders.
  • Generate the deck and open it in the editor. Fix figures first, then wording, then design.
  • Keep the report and the deck together, and note which model made the draft.
  • Export to PPTX for editing and PDF for circulation.

What ANVE does today

ANVE’s presentation maker is called Vellum. A local model writes every slide, you edit the deck in its editor, and you export PPTX, PDF or DOCX. Exports open in Google Slides, Zoho Show and Microsoft Office. Board papers and client material stay on the box in the office rather than going to a cloud design service.

Vellum runs today in ANVE’s development build. No sealed unit exists yet.

Questions people ask

Will the slides look professionally designed?
Design quality varies. Research on automatic slide generation scores design as its own dimension because earlier work tended to overlook it, so expect to adjust layouts.
Can it use our company template?
Often yes. The python-pptx documentation describes filling the text placeholders of existing slides, so a template with proper placeholders can be reused.
Will the deck open in Google Slides or Zoho Show?
Yes, as a PPTX file, with small losses in Google Slides for features such as embedded charts, which arrive as images. Open it once in the tool you will present from.
Does making slides with a local model need the internet?
No. A local model and a library such as python-pptx run on your own machine. ANVE’s presentation maker runs on the box in the office.

What is not real yet

No sealed ANVE unit exists; every image of the appliance on this site is a labelled render. The software runs today on a development machine. No customers yet, no certifications, no delivery date, and the final price is not announced.

Reservations are ₹999 in India or US$12 elsewhere, refundable in full until you confirm an order in writing (terms). Offices that cannot use cloud AI can apply to be one of ten design partners.
