A three-year view for 25 people
At the listed ₹1,800 per user per month, 25 ChatGPT Business seats cost ₹16,20,000 over three years (25 users × ₹1,800 × 36 months) if the price does not change. That buys OpenAI’s latest hosted models and no set-up. A mini PC costs far less in hardware, but gives you a model and a chat window rather than accounts, logs or minutes, and it needs an engineer’s time. The comparison is not like for like, and the right figure for your office is the one that includes the restrictions your clients and regulators impose.

When a small office should not bother
The content is public or low-risk, so a hosted plan is fine.
Use is occasional, so a subscription costs less than owning hardware.
Nobody can administer a device, and no vendor will.
Your clients accept cloud processing under a data processing addendum.

When it makes sense even for two people
Client files under confidentiality, patient records, examination papers or tender documents that must not be sent to a third-party cloud.
A professional rule makes you responsible for how staff handle client information; ICAI’s Code of Ethics, for example, asks accountants to take reasonable steps to ensure personnel under their control comply with confidentiality.
You need AI to work without an internet connection.

What is the cheapest way to run private AI?
Download open-source software such as Ollama onto a computer you already own. Ollama is MIT-licensed and its library lists models from under 1 GB to tens of gigabytes. The cost is your time and the limits of one machine.
Is a mini PC enough for ten people?
For light use, possibly, but Ollama’s default is one parallel request per model, so people queue unless you configure it and have the memory. Test with your real users before you buy.
Can I reserve an ANVE?
Yes: the reservation is ₹999 in India or US$12 elsewhere, refundable in full until you confirm an order in writing. A demo call is free, while pilots are paid, with the fee agreed in writing before installation. ANVE is pre-release, with no delivery date and a final price not yet announced.
Do small firms get cheaper cloud plans?
