ANVE: the private AI office, on the record. See what that means

ANVE

Private AI glossary · updated 2026-10-16

NPU and TOPS.
Defined in plain words, for offices deciding how to use AI.

Short answer. An NPU (neural processing unit) is a part of a processor designed for the matrix maths that AI models use, at lower power than a CPU or GPU. TOPS, trillions of operations per second, is the headline speed figure, usually quoted at low precision such as INT8. Microsoft set 40+ TOPS as the bar for Copilot+ PCs, and AMD rates the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 NPU at up to 50 TOPS. TOPS is a peak figure; real speed also depends on memory bandwidth and software support.

01

Why it matters for an office

NPUs are why a small, quiet, low-power box can now run a 4B-class model all day in an office.

02

How ANVE uses it

ANVE One is specified with AMD Strix Halo, which pairs an NPU with a large pool of unified memory; ANVE Office and Office Pro use an NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell graphics card instead. NPU support in the ANVE software is not built yet; models run on the GPU today.

03

Questions people ask

How many TOPS do I need for local AI?
For a 4B-class model doing summaries and transcription, a 40 to 50 TOPS NPU plus enough RAM is workable. Bigger models are limited more by memory than by TOPS.

What is not real yet

No sealed ANVE unit exists; every image of the appliance on this site is a labelled render. The software runs today on a development machine. No customers yet, no certifications, no delivery date, and the final price is not announced.

Reservations are ₹999 in India or US$12 elsewhere, refundable in full until you confirm an order in writing (terms). Offices that cannot use cloud AI can apply to be one of ten design partners.
