ANVE: the private AI office, on the record. See what that means

ANVE

Private AI glossary · updated 2026-10-06

Small language model.
Defined in plain words, for offices deciding how to use AI.

Short answer. A small language model (SLM) is a language model with roughly 1 to 8 billion parameters, small enough to run on a laptop, mini PC or NPU-equipped device. SLMs handle transcription clean-up, summaries, extraction and question answering over documents well. They are weaker at deep reasoning, long research and strong code generation. In our published harness, a 4B model recalled 34 of 35 facts from office meetings while a 3B model failed, so model size thresholds are real.

01

Why it matters for an office

SLMs are what make an affordable office appliance possible: they turn a few-hundred-dollar chip into a useful meeting and document assistant.

02

How ANVE uses it

ANVE keeps a fast 4B-class model alongside its default 27B-class model for quick summaries and extraction, and says plainly what a 4B model does not do.

03

Questions people ask

Is a 4B model good enough for business?
For extraction and summaries, our five-meeting smoke test says yes with checks: 19 of 20 owners correct, 0 misassigned. For reasoning-heavy work, use a larger model.

What is not real yet

No sealed ANVE unit exists; every image of the appliance on this site is a labelled render. The software runs today on a development machine. No customers yet, no certifications, no delivery date, and the final price is not announced.

Reservations are ₹999 in India or US$12 elsewhere, refundable in full until you confirm an order in writing (terms). Offices that cannot use cloud AI can apply to be one of ten design partners.
