Gujarati (ગુજરાતી) has its own script. The 2011 Census counted 5,54,92,554 people with Gujarati as their mother tongue, 4.58% of India and the sixth largest group. Gujarat had 5,19,58,730. Maharashtra had 23,71,743, Tamil Nadu 2,75,023 and Madhya Pradesh 1,87,211.
The Census groups the Saurashtra language, 2,47,702 speakers, under Gujarati, and it groups Kachchhi, 10,30,602 speakers, under Sindhi. If your clients speak Kachchhi, read the Sindhi page as well; none of the sources here tests Kachchhi on its own.
If your staff mix Hindi and English into Gujarati sentences, test the mix. None of the sources reports mixed-language Gujarati results.
For English meetings, the Svarah paper measured Whisper large at 6.0% word error rate on speakers whose mother tongue is Gujarati, against 5.3% for native Hindi speakers.
